Individual dog walks/hikes for leash-reactive dogs

Walking the dog is supposed to be enjoyable. But as anyone who’s lived with a leash-reactive or aggressive dog knows; it’s not so fun when you find yourself hiding behind parked cars to let other dogs pass, or have to apologise to people when your dog is barking and lunging at their dog. Add a job, family, other life obligations and dark winter nights, that’s where I come in.

With a leash-reactive or aggressive dog, your dog's safety and your financial liability depend on the skill of the dog walker you choose. I've pursued high levels of education to manage your dog calmly & positively when he sees things that trigger his outbursts, to keep your dog from practicing aggressive behavior and to avoid situations likely to deepen the fear behind his behaviour.

I offer walks for reactive dogs in your local area or enriching & stimulating walks in the countryside.

How it works?

Step 1: Meet & Greet Consultation

I'll come to your home at a convenient time to meet you and your dog and give you both a chance to meet me. We'll go through an interview process so I can learn everything I need to know to keep your dog happy and safe on his walks.

Step 2: Your Dog's Walk Plan

Based on what I learn at our Meet & Greet, I'll formulate a walking route and plan to set your dog up for safe, fun, uneventful walks. Or, if you're already working with a trainer, I'll incorporate your trainer's plan into our walks so your dog benefits from a consistent set of rules. If you would like a recommendation for a behaviourist I will be happy to put you in touch with People & Dogs trainers or Victoria Cooper (behaviourist).

Step 3: Walk Time!

I'll begin picking your dog up on agreed days and times for some fun as we walk and play.

If we encounter anything he tends to take issue with, I will use desensitisation and counter-conditioning techniques to help your dog to deal with situation.

If you are not at home during pick up I will send you a text message to confirm your dog is safely with me. After walk you will receive a message from me confirming a safe drop-off.

Step 4: Come Home to Your Relaxed Rover

Relax at the end of the day with a relaxed dog who's already had his walk. No more stressful sneaks around the neighborhood, hoping not to encounter anything worth barking at.

Park/Countryside Walk - 45mins

This walk includes transport in my car to a beautiful and stimulating location for around 45mins.

Your dog will be with me for around 1h+ from pick up until drop off.

Park/Countryside Walk - 1.5h

This walk includes transport in my car to a beautiful and stimulating location for around 1.5h walk.
Your dog will be with me for around 2h from pick up until drop off.
